The
Court Process
Workers
can explain what happens in court and how you might be affected. They
can also accompany you to court if you choose. You may also like to
read "Going to Court - Information for Women who are Victims
of Sexual Assault", or watch a video titled "Caught Out"
which helps prepare you for the manners and language of the court
officers.
Both
of these resources are available at the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre.
If you know the person who assaulted you and are frightened of them,
you can apply to the Magistrates Court for a Restraining Order or
a Domestic Violence Order. Alternatively, the bail conditions can
apply similar restrictions.
